When does Colorado usually get a first snow? Where is the best place in Colorado to visit?

I want to plan a mini-vacation there...but I want there to be SNOW!!

  1. We'll get snow in Colorado as early as September up in the mountains, but if you want a lot of snow, you might have to wait until November.

    As far as the best place to visit in Colorado, I'm partial to Colorado Springs because I live here and there are a ton of things to do, and it's right up against the mountains--beautiful. Plus, you're centrally located in the state to run off and take day trips to different parts of the state if you want.  

    But if you want snow and mountains, I would focus your trip around Rocky Mountain National Park, which is right near the city of Estes Park.  Or, if you want skiing specifically, I would visit the towns just west of Denver along the I-70 corridor, where all the resorts are.
