Question:

When does Delta let you choose reserved seats?

All seats on my Delta flight (ATL-DAB) show up as reserved. I know that some of these seats (such as exit row seats) are seats you aren't able to reserve online. Do they let you choose those seats within 24 hours of the departure time? The person traveling with me doesn't have a seat.

When do they open up these seats?

  1. often you can reserve a seat when purchasing a ticket online but you are not always guaranteed that seat even if you pay, trust me i booked with Delta once and had to drive two hours to another airport to catch a flight (i was however reimbursed with 2 free round trip tickets for the inconvenience) some times if there are empty seats you can up grade for a fee right before boarding, also you can purchase a ticket at the airport if there are available seats left, but there is never a guarantee that you will be able

  2. If you can't get a seat online contact the airline. It might be taken already, but they can tell you for sure.
