  1. Freeside: what are you on about? some anglo paranoia it seems? or a little jealous that the rest of Canada does not have that kind of relations with any country of the world?

The agreements that are about to be sealed between the Government of Quebec and the French Government are not about "opening up Quebec's borders", so that the French people can come and work without a VISA or work permit, it is about facilitating it and working in closer cooperation, creating more commercial and education opportunities (e.g: common university degrees, recognition of those degrees made easier on both sides, etc.).

And of course, those poor English Canadians are going to whine and claim it is all about wanting to increase the number of separatists in Quebec? Wake up gents, this is 2008, not 1995, not 70's and let alone the 60's.

But no one knows when that is going to be done exactly, they are still discussing it.

  2. the french pool is getting ever smaller so the little pockets left in the world have to liason with each other or perish.  Maybe quebecois would welcome some new "sang bleu" in their midst to push their seperatists numbers higher.

I hadnt heard of these changes but I doubt it very strongly ...  if it was the case the euro union would have to allow reciprocity... we Canadians could go work there sans permits and cant see that happening.
