September in autralia and march in the usa..we have opposite seasons..such as..right now here in the usa..we are fixing to enter our fall and go on into winter...it is midsummer right now and hotter than fire still..while it is quite cold in Oz right now...I am just setting out my winter veggies and you will soon be setting out your spring veggies..

Officially, it starts on the first day of September.  However, there are unofficial times for different areas, according to the climate of that area.
