When does Wicked the movie come out?

I've heard that they are making a movie of the broadway musical Wicked, when will that be coming out? does anybody know anything about these plans???

That would be great!  I loved the book and the play.  It would make such a good movie.  I haven't heard anything though.

There are many conflicting accounts. IMDB does claim its 2010. But Gregory Maguire had said 2014 once.

2013 seems a good bet, the tenth anniversary of the opening on Broadway.

Its anyone's guess. All we know right now is that the film will be made.

The only info I could find was on IMDB. It seems that the movie is in the very early stages and doesn't even have a cast yet. Though according to IMDB it will be released sometime in 2010, but that could change later on.

Because as of now there are now plans for a film. But if there was, I'd say probably 2012 or 2013.

“Wicked” co-creator Marc Platt announced last month that he has intentions to produce a film version sometime in the future. While no release date or casting details have been announced, at least we know that a project is in the works.  Winnie Holzman, who penned the musical’s book, is already on board to write the screenplay.
