When does a cat start spraying?

i have a 13week old male cat and i swear i started smelling this foul odor but i dont know if it was him or what....could he start spraying already?? im going to be getting him fixed within a month though.. also i just got a female cat about 6mos old and i was wondering cuz he cant get her pregnant can he?? hes 13weeks old....

he could be spraying already, but you would defiantly know she was in heat, they cry, whine terribly and like to rub on you and stick theyre butt up, its a pain get fixed asap

call a vets office to ask...i don't think they can at that age...but if he is its to mark his territory and the female will do it as well, get them both fixed ASAP or  they will keep peeing and spraying all over the house., and the pregnant thing as soon as his "stuff" drops yes he can get her preg. GET THEM FIXED it will make all of you much happier =)

Males are mature at 4 months.  Sometimes younger if a new female moves into the territory and comes into heat.

Complete with spraying and wanting to mate.

RUN to the vet and get them both fixed.  If you have just him done, he'll still spray when he smells her in heat.

A16 week kitten can get a cat pregnant, I'm not sure a 13 week one can.  Technically it's probably possible. If she's not in heat, though, he won't be able to do it.  Males are triggered by pheromones that the hormones from the female trigger.

Your boy won't be spraying or getting your other cat pregnant for a few months.  Male kittens usually start puberty when they reach 6 months old. It's a very good idea to have him fixed before he reaches puberty. Your girl needs to be fixed ASAP.  Females can go into the first heat as young as 4 months old. Having her fixed will also minimize her risk of developing diseases and infections of the reproductive tract. The foul odor could be where he or she didn't use the litterbox to pee.
