It takes along time, but whenever someone goes bankrupt. (My dad and his girlfriend played it for 2 weeks before the game ended!)

Monopoly game ends when 1 per son runs out of money. After that whoever has the most money between the remaining players wins.

But seriously now, I think it ends when all the players but one are bankrupt.

It's supposed to end when everyone else goes bankrupt.

However, since I am stubborn and refuse to make property trades with my siblings, we keep playing and making money off of each other until we are all cranky, frustrated, hungry, thirsty, and/or have to pee really, really badly.

So uh...we have never ever finished a monopoly game the way it's supposed to be finished.

According to the official rules of Monopoly (linked below), the game ends when only one player remains, i.e. all of the other players are bankrupted. Typically this happens when one player owns several high-value properties with hotels.

Monopoly games can take a long time to play, so an alternative is to set a time-limit, and the player with the most amount of cash and properties at the end of that time is the winner.
