  1. Well, you leave out so many details that it's hard to answer.

1-Is "your man" also your husband?  Do you have a family and children to consider?  Or is "your man" a live-in lover?

2-Is "your man" a high potential employee of a good corporation and the move could mean advancement in terms of more money and a chance for additional advancement?  Or is "your man" unemployed and the grocery store in another state needs someone to be the cart pusher?

3-Hopefully, before you enter into a relationship of any kind that may require you to leave your biological family and friends, you discussed the plans for your futures and how this union would affect them.  You discussed what you would and would not be acceptable to the relationship.

If you are just shacked up together because you needed someone to help pay the rent and the s*x ain't too bad, then I'd say you'll probably be better off staying put and finding someone else.  Renters (and s*x partners) are easy to come by.

If you are married, especially with children to consider, and you never discussed what your goals were before you got married, then you kind of put the cart before the horse and you have to weigh the outcome against (A) what YOU want to do to satisfy your own needs and (B) what you perceive to be your obligations to the family you have helped to create.

  2. When that move would equivalate in better long term success for the relationship.

  3. Only when they are married.
