  1. Its the other way around. The forest becomes wood.

  4. I always thought forests were pine and woods were broadleafed.

  5. there is also something in the name itself , a forest is forested , nurtured allowed to grow for exploitation / production .

  6. When a community says it is. As far as I know,there is no legal definition, although forests are presumed to be larger by most people.

    A local council or private land owner will usually name the area as a wood or forest. There is no exact boundry.
