  1. The dilation of the pupils is to check the eye and look for diseases/infections.

An eye doctor might usually does it to everyone, but how often depends on the doctor.

this doesn't matter, but why did u say "and does he" as if an eye doctor has to be a boy? you can answer in feedback if you choose me as best answer

  2. I have a thorough eye exam every year, and have never had my pupils dilated.

  3. Doctors focus light in  eyes. That makes the pupil small. Dilated pupil permits refraction, examination of lens, vitreous, and retina.

  4. That may depend on the doctor.  Some dilate every patient every time.  I believe that really isn't necessary in the younger, healthier population and do it every other time.  Of course if there is a condition which warrants dilation, such as diabetes, or if you are older, I do it annually.  However, it should be done at least periodically in order to have had a thorough ocular health evaluation.

  5. Dilation of the pupil allows the doctor to visually examine the condition of the inside and back of your eye. It is part of any thorough eye examination.

  6. no he only does it to people  that don't have 20/20 vision at least in one eye...but they do it to check out your eyes to see if they are getting better or worse...
