I'm curious how long it takes to start causing any brain damage from blood being cut off to the brain, using a choke hold that the police use or some similar thing.

  1. Brain damage can occur within 4 minutes of the brain being completely deprived of oxygen.  However, I doubt a choke hold could COMPLETELY deprive a person's brain of oxygen unless the officer was literally strangling the person.

  2. General rule of thumb is the "Rule of 3" before damage will start to occur.

    3 minutes without air

    3 days without water

    3 weeks without food

It's a GENERAL rule. Not specific to every case.

  3. each person would be different.it would depend on your age size and drive.you can forget making a case against a cop for this.all they will say is that he was in the line of duty.

  4. MINUTES IN 5 YOUR BRAIN IS BADLY DAMAGED IN 7 MINUTES UR DEAD
