When does child support stop?

In regards to that first answer, in the State of Illinois, they do not allow entrance into a High School past the age of 20.  And what loser needs 8 years to complete High School, anyway?!

No state makes you pay child support until the age of 25, in regards to that one idiots answer.....you are a LEGAL ADULT at 18, going to college is a choice and in most cases, a luxury.  Maybe RICH people have to provide college, but the vast MAJORITY of the rest of us, I have never heard of a man having to provide college for the kids....NEVER.

Most of the divorce papers I have seen it states 18 or graduation. Which mans if you child is eighteen and still in school then you are going to pay child support until he/she graduates. Each state is different and you could always look your state's guidelines.

In most states, it is stated in the custody/support agreement or ruling.

Also, in most states it continues to age 21 -25 if the "child" is a full time student.

18 is the usual age but if the person is going to school it will last until 21, the same as their health insurance.

Other wise you have to wait until the child is 21 year old. Still have to petition to court.
