There's only one way to eat haggis... sliced, battered, with a plate of chips. What's your best haggis experience?

  2. This takes me back a few decades. Freshly shot haggis, tatties and neeps. Wash it down with several Taliskers. :-)

  3. Catch it, kill it, cook it n bin it - that's my recipe.  It's disgusting stuff!!!!

  4. ok...thats one of the reason we sailed across the ocean, just to get away from nasty c**p like that!!!!!!!!!

And I make fish chum for a living!

    LOL!!!!!

Although, I just read the part about "battered"....well heck I can eat dang near anything deep fried!

  5. d**n crazy Highlanders

  6. It is over until fall. Since this dish is made using Sheep stomach's, you must wait until the mutton is killed. That is in the Fall of each year.

  7. try it mixed with baked beans - a match made in heaven!

  8. Sir, civilized man does not HUNT haggis, civilized man does all in his power to avoid haggis.  To eat a haggis.......... well, sir, that is just not at all proper.  It is made of the inedable parts of dead animals, offal as we know it.  It is the part that is rejected as unsuitable by makers of dog food.  Simply stated, haggis eaters are barbarians.  One would be better served by eating dog vomit.  No sir, avoid it, avoid it at every opportunity.

  9. The best haggis hunt is where you dont hunt haggis.

  10. Well, I've heard of it and I even have some Scottish blood but I never could "stomache" hunting them since it took a lots of "guts". I'd rather just go with a large bowl of oatmeal washed down by some Glennfiddich.

  11. around the same time as sausage hunting season.

  12. At the stroke of midnight on Burns night.

  13. I believe it's right after Fiesel Day.

  14. The season begins on 'the glorious twelfth'.

Watch out for the 'odd leg Mc Haggis'. They come in two versions, the clockwise and the anti-clockwise.  They run round the hills in either a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction according to type.

The anti-clockwise ones are very rare and taste exquisite!

  15. The best way is with a plate of bashed neeps, chappit tatties and a wee dram of Glenmorangie.

If you are going haggis hunting, remember and get your license.

  16. You dont hunt haggis.  Is this a wind up?  It is a collection of ingredients all bound together.  Im guessing you are scottish by the way you like haggis and chips.  Shouldnt you know more about the way Haggis is made?  Im just a mere Englander.  I love Haggis and I know exactly where it comes from.
