  1. The Atlantic basin hurricane season officially began on June 1 and runs through November 30th.   The season for the northeast Pacific is a bit longer, from May 15 through November 30th.

More information can be found here: http://www.aoml.noaa.gov/hrd/tcfaq/G1.ht...

  2. The official Hurricane season starts on June 1st and officially ends on the last day of September. However, hurricanes have formed before and after the hurricane season. There was once a hurricane that formed in January and plenty more that have formed outside the season. However, the season was established after studying hurricane patterns to see which months will have the highest chances for producing hurricanes.

And By the way, this hurricane season only applies to us folks here in the Northern hemisphere where hurricanes form in the Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico and the Carribean Sea.
