We are planning a trip there this year, and we would like to see snow as we have never seen it before. Around when does it get cold enough to snow?

  1. Best time to get snow in Ohio is mid to late January through early March. We have had snow as early as late October, and as late as early April. But anything before, or after is a c**p shoot. Also remember the further north you go, the better your chances. Once you get in the northern parts, just listen to the weather for the dreaded words. "Lake Effect" It usually spells trouble. As for telling someone who has never seen snow, the very best time to catch it. I'd say any time in February, you can almost guarantee a storm or two. During any 7 day period.

  2. Anywhere from late October to April....UGH! Most of the snow comes in December, January and February. We seem to have a bad storm just before Christmas and then again around Valentine's Day. Been in the 60's this week, yeah, Spring is finally here!!!!! Plan on the Chardon area, they always get dunped on.

  3. hopefully there will be snow on the ground around Christmas (that's northern Ohio), Southern Ohio may not get snow all winter.
