When does onix evolve into steelix in pokemon pearl?

what level do u have to get an onix to for it to evolve? and I havnt given it any rare candys

or go to iron island and catch a steelix or victory road hav some there

Get a Metal Coat (After completing Iron Island and getting the lunar wing for the sailors son/daughter, go to iron island, in the house before you go in the cave, talk to that dude in there, he gives it to you.) Then have an Onix hold it, and trade it.

P.S. It doesn't have to be any level, you just have to trade it holding Metal Coat..

It doesn't evolve by leveling. You have to trade him while holding some kinda metal object. I forget which. Its the same needed to evolve that one pokemon into Scizzor.

you can either catch a steelix or give the item metal coat to an onix and trade to another game to evolve

it doesnt evolve by leveling up u must trade it 2 some1 and it must be holdin a metal coat and it will evolve

or u can go 2 canaclave city (i think its the 6th badge) and go on the boat 2 iron island and u can catch a steelix there or beat the game and go into the snowpoint city (i think its the 7th badge) and go into the temple at the north of the city where u can catch regigigas if u hav all 3 regis but u dont need them 2 go inside and catch a steelix

You have to trade it with someone while it is holding an Iron Coat. Or maybe it's metal coat...I forgot, but yeah, As well as I can remember it's not hard to get one.

on pokemon pearl go to iron island and go to the house outside the cave talk to the guy inside the house. Give that item to onix then trade him and he will evolve. (this also works with scyther to scizor) i thimks its called metal coat or something close to that
