When does summmer end??? I live in Fontana California....

The official end of summer (and start of fall) occurs every year on the autumnal equinox (or fall equinox.) This is defined as the time when the Sun is positioned directly over the Earth's equator. This day usually falls on September 22 or 23. This year, it happens to be on the 22nd at 15:44 UTC.

Unfortunately, the official end of summer doesn't mean temperatures will suddenly cool off. The main cause for cooler temperatures is the southward shift of the jet stream, which brings cold fronts through, and is currently hanging out over Canada.
