  1. I am a dental assistant of 2yrs.  I care for lots of teeth everyday.  Brushing and flossing everyday atleast 2times aday, will help keep your teeth healthy.  Bacteria is always growing on our teeth.  When we brush and floss, it removes the germs, but then about 30mins down the road, they are covered in germs again.  It doesn't matter what we are doing or at what time of the day it, there is no way to get rid of bacteria.  It's when we stop cleaning our teeth is when they go bad.  The best time to brush and floss is right after we eat something.  When we eat, the left over food will sit on our teeth and can start to cause breakdown.  So the sooner it comes off, the better.

If you are up at 3AM and are too tired to brush, dip your toothbrush in scope mouth rinse and brush with that.  That will help kill some germs til you can really get in there and clean them.

Going to the dentist every 6mos for cleanings and check ups will prevent tooth problems, or catch any problems before it's too late.

  2. It's important to brush before bed because your mouth gets dry at night and your teeth start to decay. It won't happen overnight, but it WILL happen.

  3. this is a matter of personal preference....most people do not think to brush their teeth during the waking hours unless they are going to bed or have just gotten up....just because you didnt brush until 3am does not mean there was an alarm that went off in your mouth saying okay teeth start rotting

  4. They begin to go bad when you stop taking care of them.
