When does the Summer Olympics end? And is there a closing ceremony (as grand as the opening ceremony was)?

OK, is it August 24th or 25th? Cuz now I have 2 conflicting answers. Also I wanted to know cuz I wanted to know if it ends before the Democratic National Convention starts on August 25th, I believe.
