It is called "LA TOMATINA"

the town is BUÑOL...

Buñol is a very small town near Valencia. It takes about 40 minutes to drive from Valencia to Buñol, on the A-III road. You go past the towns of Cheste and Chiva.

La Tomatina is held from about 11 am. until one pm. on the last wednesday in august, during the local fiestas...

Over 100,000 kilos of ripe tomatoes are squashed and thrown at each other by some 40,000 people.

This is the most gross waste of food that occurs in Spain, considering that there are people starving to death in other parts of the world...
