the european cup final is on 20th May and this is usualy the last game of the season. The national teams will then start their tours at the end of June.

Memorial Day in US (last weekend in may) is usually the beginning of our 7's season and the end of 15's being begining to mid may.

Always used to run from 01 Sept to 30 April, but it's change since profesionalism. RFU insurance isn't valid after these dates except for cup matches, one day tournaments/festivals and touring sides
