We're told by elders that winter is going to be early and long this year. I'm not talking about the "official" time but the real time

  2. WOW !!! Thank you so much for posting about the change of color of the leaves. I have never been so far north as you are. I have always wondered about the change of seasons there and the great difference in the hours of sunlight thru out your seasons. :-)

  3. Here on Long Island,NY we usually start experience winter weather around December and it usually lasts until early March. Leaves usually don't change until October and they don't fall until November. But a few years ago some trees started getting some color in late August.

  4. Usually about October in the UK!, August should be warm, but it has been raining for a couple of weeks now and feels cold tonight!

  5. Usually, mid to late November. Of course, that is our definition of winter (permanent snow on the ground, daytime temperatures well below freezing). Some people consider late October to be winter here, but any snow that falls then usually melts away, and even if it doesn't, it frequently rises above zero Celsius in early November, which in my opinion is still fall.

Where do you live in the Yukon? Rock River? Old Crow? I know my Canadian geography quite well :)

  6. it usually starts in December in Massachusetts, which is too soon

  7. i think that winter never happening in San Francisco but Nov. or Dec.
