When does your child go back to school? I haven't got anything from my sons school.

I know I need to call them & find out, but I'm curious about what day school starts. I know it's different everywhere, but I thought it was towards the middle of August, but a friend just told me her kids go back to school next week.

We can't answer that for you, because it is different everywhere. There should be announcements, articles in your newspaper.

I can tell you that around my area, kids always go back in Sept, on the day after Labor Day.

I would call your son's school and or get on there website. My Niece goes back August 25 but we are in New Jersey,so yours most likely is different.

I am in florida and they start on Aug 18 and I know that.I had to look it up on their homepage cause I as well didn't get anything in the mail letting me know when it started.So look it up as well that is my advice to you.

My kid starts school on the 22nd of this month. Her school hasn't sent anything out either! I was getting really annoyed that they hadn't. They finally updated their website a few days ago, so I printed off the supply list and got to see the calender too. Maybe see if your kid's school's website has anything on it.

I live in NC and it starts Aug 25. Its different everywhere. My neice in GA starts Aug 3.

Look up the school's website.   They should have the date and they should have a supply list for you.

You could see if your school has a website. Many of them are clunky URLs like brentwood.k12.ca.us -- ours recently switched to spenceriowaschools.com .

Our middle and high school kids go back on the 19th. That day is a parent teacher conference for our kindergartener (and all other k-6 kids) and he starts his first day on the 20th.

Anyway, I hate calling our schools because I usually get such condescending attitude on the phone from their office staff so I go on the Internet as much as possible to find things out and email the counselor, principal or teachers directly.
