I wrote a synopsis that one would use to tease a reader into buying the book. Do you do it this way or do you really lay it all out?

  1. The rule of thumb is relating the story at a 25 to 1 ratio. For every 25 pages of the book you should have about a page of synopsis. Lay it all out, hit all the high points and the plot development. An agent gets lots of manuscripts and synopsis to read - so make it count.

  2. An agent is not a reader. They are trying to sell your book. Do NOT tease them.

When you write your synopsis, lay it all out there. As you're writing, don't forget to include your character's growth arc as well as the plot.

The teaser blurb is for marketing after the book is sold.
