is it easier to run barefoot or in tennis shoes?

im going to the coast this weekend and plan on running a mile or more.

  1. Run barefoot. it will give your calves a better workout because of less friction. shoes will add friction to make the workout easier. but whichever you prefer.


  2. So long as you don't step on something sharp barefoot is always best I find.

    But then again it depends on how rough the sand is and how long of a run you are going for.

    Still I have always preferred bare feet on a run up to 4 miles.

  3. it is soo hard to run on soft sand w/o shoes...i have never tried it with shoes. Run on the hard sand near the water. This is much easier but hurts your feet alot. I would run with shoes on the hard wet sand if you are not afraid if you shoes might get wet.
