  1. Drink cask ale or warmer beer.  CO2 comes out of solution as beer warms and cask ale is generally very lightly carbonated, almost flat.  Beer is generally served FAR colder than it should be.  Popular beers (budweiser, coors...) also tend to be overly carbonated so perhaps try out something local or differnt, even something like Blue Moon (coors product) is far less carbonated.

Cask ale may also be sold as firkins or real ale depending on the bar.

  2. let it sit first, or don't drink so fast

if you live in europe (or go there on vacation) you can find warm(ish) beer served with handpumps (esp. in the UK I think), that may be what a previous poster referred to as "cask ale", that's also really fresh and good to boot (no pun intended)

also in germany (and maybe other countries as well) when you order a beer it takes them like ten minutes to prepare it--they fill it up and let the foam subside about 5-6 times--maybe there's some way of buying one of those little imported kegs and doing the same on your own if you're having a (dinner) party

just thought of something else--buy brands that come in widemouth containers (like "Mickey's), or just have served in a glass instead of a longneck bottle or can (if that's how you've been drinking it) might help

  3. Drink straight liquor. Problem solved.

  4. drink slower and burp when you need to. maybe even try light beer unless you already are.
