When drinking for the first time, is it bad to start with vodka?

If its your first time drinking alcohol (and you dont want to get sick/ puke), How much vodka should u drink, and how should u drink it (straight up, or mixed with something?)

that is kind of tough... i would say straight and take a shot then take another one in 15 minutes depending on how you feel... i am telling you to drink it straight so you can see how vodka taste, smells, the after taste, the burn etc.. the only bad thing is once people get drunk they think they are bullet proof and start taking shots like they are nothing... so its really up to you.. just.. be prudent.. you dont want to be vomiting... take it one drink/shot at a time... if its your first time i wouldnt have more than 2 or 3... just to be safe..

you wont puke unless your over doing it i would sujest to drink it with sprite vodkla but its self makes you have a sore throat

It's not a bad thing but just remember that 1 shot is the same as 1 beer. To make it taste better (IMO) than put it in the freezer for a while.

For your first time, mix it with juice or a light colored soft drink like sprite or 7-UP (dark drinks with dark soft drinks and light drinks with light soft drinks).

You could always take shots and use a chaser which isn't that bad but don't breath in while taking the shot and it'll be easier to swallow.

For mixed drinks add some ice cubes in a glass or cup and add 1-2 shots of liquor and the rest juice or a soft drink.

As for how much you should drink it depends on your weight and since it's your first time drinking you'll have no tolerance. I recommended that over a nights course unless you weight quite abit than try to stay under 6 shots (over the course of a night not one after another).

I'd say, yes it's probably a bad idea to start with vodka. I didn't touch any vodka until I had drunk a few times and had a better idea of my limit.

Also, if it's your first time, I wouldn't go full out and get drunk; your body isn't used to it and you'd have a high chance of puking. I'd say have no more then 2 or 3 drinks (that's all I could handle in the beginning), and make sure you eat a decent meal beforehand and drink water in between your drinks. Some low-ish alcoholic drinks include bacardi breezers (contains rum), vodka cruisers, or if they're too girly for you, a couple of beers, wine, or baileys and milk are also good options.

I know you'll probably think 2-3 drinks is tiny, but trust me, when it's your first time it really does affect you. Left me feeling dizzy when I shut my eyes when i first started, lol.

My first experience getting drunk  was with raspberry triple distilled and coke as a chaser. I was fine. That being said, I have learned over time that I do not throw up, no matter what or how much I drink. So to be safe, I would mix a nice vodka with some juice or to be even more safe, some flavored Bacardi with sprite.

never drink vodka straight, it burns!!!!  if you like oj, mix with that.  Or my first drink was vodka and cool aide, and that was ok.  As for how much it depends a lot of things, from weight to just your tolerance.  start out slow, it may seem like it is taking forever for it to hit you, but you don't want to get to drunk then get sick.

NO VODKA!!! It's extremely hard and serious alcohol. You WILL get sick! I suggest something like rum and coke (good rum). Much easier going down and drink a tall glass of water before you go to sleep.

Don't mix drinks. Everyone is different with their alcohol intake so you can't rely on any one else's information. Definitely mix it with something, so with vodka I usually drink it with lemonade but you can mix it with another fizzy drink if you like. But if YOU personally feel like you have had enough, then stop. Like I said everyone is different.

As a rule, if you want to get drunk, start slow. Drink one shot of hard liquor and wait a few minutes. Then take another. Wait a few minutes.

The idea is to measure the effect of the alcohol on your system. If you've eaten immediately before drinking, you might need to wait a little longer for the first shot to hit you.

Here's the kicker. Make sure you drink one 8oz glass of water per shot of vodka. This will both help heal the burn of the alcohol and also keep you hydrated.

A hangover = dehydration. The pain in your head is your brain shrinking away from the inside of your skull.

Always drink it straight. That way you know how much you're getting and can make better choices about mixed drinks.

Oh, and if you're a girl, pour it yourself from a bottle you've opened and that you've kept your eyes on all night (i.e., only drink with people you know you can trust!)

And stay away from the bucket in the kitchen. Whatever they put in there isn't something you want to drink.

Well, the first time a drank (not the first time i had a drink, but the first time i drank a lot) i had beer, vodka and scotch. I drank alot (in excess of 20-25 drinks) and i never went green and i have perfect memory of the night. If you drink at a steady pace (ie. avoid drinking games) your unlikely to drink yourself to the point where your throwing up all over the place.

About drinking vodka to start with, i find most vodka mixers sickly sweet, mainly because most are chicks drinks, scotch is my personal favorite either with coke or on the rocks. If your going to drink beer, make sure its full strength beer not light. Light beer will have you pissing all night and you won't get anywhere near drunk (unless your a real lightweight, and if you are, thats a good thing, you'll find life much cheaper).

First of all you need to eat while drinking if you don't want to get drunk. A good rule of thumb is to drink no more than 3 ounces every hour. Vodka straight up will knock you on your a**. I sugguest mixing it with OJ or cranberry juice.

Depends on what size you are.

Well, my first time touching any alcohol was straight vodka, I'm a big guy though, (6' 3" and 270lbs/280lbs, just incase your about the same).

Take it in straight shots or if you are gonna take alot mix it with say lemonade and down it.

(I know alot of you will say about binge drinking, but I always prefer to take stuff as a shot or to down it).

Was drunk, but never threw up.

Can't really help with how much to take though, can't remember much, haha

you definetely dont want to mix it with anything i'll just make it more "powerful" make you get drunk faster, dont drink it fast either, i mean dont drink it like is champagne but dont drink it too fast. have fun, but im sure you will puke haha.
