When drivers get fined by Nascar what do you think about having the money go into a fund that helps and is set up to help owner/drivers obtain more money for testing (for example Robby Gordon)

Just curious as to your thoughts.

  1. The money does go into charity funds as well as the final pay-offs to the drivers at the NASCAR banquet.

To do what you said would generate some howls from Jack Roush, seeing as how people like Morgan Shepard (bless him) would be getting money.

  2. NASCAR is a business, if some owners can't make it then so be it.  All of the owners are multi millionaires and I don't think they need the money from penalties.  I like what they do with it now, it goes to charities and the NASCAR Foundation.

  3. I think your idea is a nice one but I have to agree with Trego I like the fact they use it for Charities and such.  That's pretty nice too.

  4. I know that every time Robby Gordon wrecks, or is laps down for engine problems or anything like that...I wish that I were rich enough to put him in a great car.   I know he is an owner/driver and probably would rather lose on his own than win with someone elses car.  So I know what you are saying.

And your idea does have merit.

On the other hand...drivers can afford their fines.  And yes it does go to charity.

  5. Your idea is okay. However, I have to agree with Trego. Charities and the NASCAR Foundation need the money more than the owner/drivers.

  6. The fine money should go to the poor folks that don't have enough money to buy tickets to the race and have to watch on television.

    Just my thoughts.

  7. That's not a bad idea! I doubt that would ever happen but it is a nice thought cause owner/drivers like Robby could use it and can't quite keep up money wise anyways with the big boys!! Good idea!!

  8. Cool idea until you take away from charities.  It would be nice to see somebody like Robby (who has more talent than money) get a leg up but it is probably better they don't.  Good point is if you cannot afford to own/drive then maybe you shouldn't.  Great question.  Definately thought provoking.

  9. I like the fact that the money goes to charity. But your idea works too.
