  1. I hope I understand your question, but it is not necessarily by distance.

4-5 seconds is adequate when indicating before manouvering, but dependent on circumstances, 3 seconds is generally the rule.

  2. 500 feet for the interstate and 100 feet for city streets.

  3. You're supposed to do it within 100 feet, but I only followed that rule during my drivers test .. you know we all do. Lol.

Now, I only signal about 4-5 seconds before I turn, and I don't even signal if there's nobody behind me.

  4. Depends on speed - < 1 block on city streets. (100 yards), 15-30 seconds on thoroughfares and expressways - 1/4-1/2 mile - 440-880 yards

  5. 100 i think

  6. 100 feet.

  7. dunno

  8. 100 feet? Always? Really?

What if there is one more turn before yours? You indicate and the driver in the first one assumes (correctly) that you're turning and drives right into your car..... How could they know that you're actually wanted to take the next turn?

And what about if you were driving 5 mph? Would you still indicate 100 feet before your turn? Would you indicate at 100 feet when driving 50 mph?

    Surely not.

Timing depending on circumstances and the speed is way more important than distance.

And one more thing - First - indicate, second - brake.

  9. 100 feet

  10. no less that 100 feet or 30 meters
