When driving through deeper puddles, is it true that pumping your brakes will keep your brakes dry ?

  1. NO! when driving thru deeper puddles you want to gently apply the brakes and keep them applied while driving thru the puddle this keeps constant contact to the brake pad thus not allowing water to get on them.


  2. No - don't pump them, apply as much as you can without stopping.

  3. Going through the puddle, if you are braking, just brake normally.  What this is refering to is you can dry your brakes after the puddle to dry them off, but just do it enough for the brake just to grab.

  4. It will dry them out after but not while you are in the water

  5. not when you are in the puddle..that will cause you to hydroplane or skid...do it after you are clear of the puddle...do not do any sudden stops you want to make sure they are dry before you need to do that

  6. Just reduce your speed and drive slowly and after you are out pump the pedal slightly 5 to 10 times and they will slowly dry out.
