  1. yes, because your brights will still hurt the other guys eyes.

  2. Yes. Your headlights can still blind the drivers on the other side.

  3. Yes, did you think that the highway agency put magic air between the roads, that blocked lights? Come on admit it what where you thinking when you asked that question, was it magic or fairies or gnomes? go on tell us!

  4. Yes always, you could cause an accident by blinding the oncoming vehicle plus failure to dim your lights is illegal.

  5. The law states  to use low beams when an oncoming vehicle is about 500 feet in the oncoming lane. So, I say to dim your lights when you can see two lights instead of one blur. The idea is to be able to see and for the other driver to see without being blinded. A curb does not prevent those bright lights from shining in yours or the oncoming driver's eyes....it's common sense really.

  6. Yes.

The medium does not block the rays of your headlights from blinding the on-coming drivers.

This should not even be a question.  No wonder there are so many accidents today.  No driving skills.  We really need to tighten up on the requirements needed to be granted a driver's license.

  7. if you check the Rule Book , there is a section in there for this Q.

i believe it reads some-thing like this....

dip your beams when in a Built-up area or with-in 200mtrs. of an on-coming vehicle.......

the same principle can/is applied to driving with a Median Strip dividing the Lanes...!

be-sides , it IS common Courtesy , as a driver to drop your lights when you can see the lights of an on-coming......just that most Drivers have forgotten how to be    "Courteous".

same as being behind a vehicle that is `way ahead` of you.

if you can see the Tail-lights of that vehicle and you are on High-beam , you should drop your lights , because if YOU can see the T/l`s , YOUR H/b`s are shining directly INTO the rear-view mirrors of that vehicle (causing blind-ness).

doesn`t matter what the Distance is , Darkness won`t Dim the rays from your H/l`s.

  8. firstly there is no legal requirement to dip your headlights.

on some motorways the median or banking is sufficiently high to block the dazzle from your lights.if you cannot directly see the lights of oncomming traffic then there would be no need to dip.however if a high lorry is oncomming please remember that the driver may see your light source even though you cant see his.hope this helps.keep safe.

  9. if you see his lights he sees yours so dim yours
