I have been told so many diff things. Is it 8-10 from when your period starts? or when it ends?

A friend of mine had s*x the day after her period. Then started with some light BROWN spotting.....now she has breast tenderness and is not scheduled to get her period for another 3 weeks....

  1. your friend is not pregnant. Typically, it's 2 weeks after the start of your last period (so it's 14 days after the first day of her last period), plus/minus 3 days.

She may just be having some hormonal changes, depending on her age... or is getting sick

  2. If you need to ask that means you're too young to be having s*x.  So quit having s*x!

  3. It differs for every woman and the best way to know when you ovulate is to observe some physical symptoms along with doing the ovulation tests.  You can get the tests for cheap (<$1 each) on early-pregnancy-tests.com.  The site has additional information and instructions on how to use the tests (just like how u use the pregnancy tests)

    good luck!

  4. You can get pregnant any time you have s*x that's why you should use protection............to keep from getting pregnant or worse, STDs.

  5. Doc's say 7 - 10 days before your period is to begin. However, they will also be quick to tell you that in fact you can get pregnant ANY time... even DURING your period. So never have unprotected s*x if you don't want to take that risk.

    Good luck and God Bless!

  6. have a female ob-gyn friend

her theory - ANY of the 28 days

the body is SO thrilled to get the "gift"

that it will go 'out of sequence' and roll an egg down to

"catch it" - as the gift can live on for a few hours

and a little one is one the way

    all the best

  7. you are able to get pregnant during the time when you are ovulating.  however, women can ovulate at different times - not everyone ovulates the week before their period.  they have ovulation tests at drugstores (i just saw them at target last week, too) to help you know when you are actually ovulating.

  8. You can only get pregnant when you are ovulating.  Generally speaking if you have a perfect, by the book, 28 day cycle, you would ovulate about 2 weeks after the first day of your period.  However, women can ovulate at anytime and it is often different for different women.  It is possible that she ovulated right after her period ended, that is when I generally ovulate.   You should never count on it being a certain day after the first day of your period.  You can learn to determine when you are ovulating, and I would suggest reading up on that, as its a little graphic for me to explain here.

  9. It's possible to get pregnant anytime during the month, it doesn't matter when your period is.
