  1. limited Dif, suspension upgrades, and easing onto the throttle are all that can help it. Mustangs have live axles and are thus highly susceptible to axl hop. even the new mustangs suffer from it sometimes. its just a trait of the mustang my friend.

  2. Axle truss.

  3. You need some traction bars like the Shelbys used.. you can get them from most Mustang parts dealers, or check Mustang magazines..

the 84 SVO used slapper bars, the 85/86 SVO used the quad shock setup..it was also used on the GT's

  4. Because the pony is noseheavy and has a fixed rear axle, your hoppy routine is inevitable due to what used to be called "axle windup." I had a 65 and know from experience. Some people tried Panhard rods, but they never worked. You need what in that innocent age was called "Positraction" and are really the components of traction control. Good luck finding it for a forty-year-old car. That ol' lady will get squirrelly every time you pour on the coal, and nothing else will help. Nothing, Dude. Under no circumstances put in springs that will raise the rear end, which will make things worse. A limited-slip differential would help a bit, tho.
