When ever i find this frog in my yard i see it in water. so what might it eat and need if i want to keep it?

If you want to keep a frog as a pet, the best thing to do is find out exactly what species it is, and find out all of it's needs before you get one. If you get one without knowing all of it's needs, it will just die without proper care.

The fact that you see them in water may just mean that they are breeding/laying eggs when you see them. It's not likely that they normally spend much time in water.
