  1. Feed the kitty what he likes. Brands taste different to them just like they do to us. It is OK to feed different brands. My cat eats everything from Walmart c**p (special kitty) to Iams to Friskies. May have to buy and can of this and a can of that and see which one he/she likes the best. It is very important to put wet food in the diet cause cats are prone to Kidney disease---and the more moisture in their diet the better it is for them.

  2. Yes, you can add different flavors, just be careful they don't upset your cats digestive system by giving little bits in the beginning mixed with their normal flavor and then slowly increasing the amount.

  3. Not a problem. My cat is 13 years old, and spoiled rotten. I buy just about every brand and flavor I can get. I give her a new flavor of food every day along with  her dry food. It's good to give different flavors of food as I think of it this way. I'd get bored and tired of eating the same thing every day and I'm sure cats do too.

  4. Sure my cat likes a change

  5. Sure you can. Your cat might not like it as much though

  6. It is definitely okay to feed different flavors of the same brand of wet food. It is only when you switch brands abruptly that you encounter problems, because different brands have different concentrations of nutrients. It is also okay to feed different brands of dry and wet foods. If they have the proper nutritional content, your kitty should be fine. The change in flavor will be a welcome change for him/her. If you do have problems, be sure to consult your vet about kitty's diet.

  7. Yes you can but I would advise to feed the fish perhaps once a week.  You will find that your cat has its favorite flavors so don't go out and buy several cans of each flavor. Two cans each is all that is needed to see what the choices are. Feed the dry food too but keep an eye on the weight.

  8. You'll still want to take it slowly.  Offer just a bit of the new food and gradually increase amounts if no digestive upsets occur.

But once a cat has been introduced and has accepted a new food, you don't need to repeat the process for that particular one, unless years go by without feeding it again.

I would limit your use of fishy foods, though.  They should be reserved for 2-3 times per week.

There's no reason to stick within brands.  You can mix and match as you wish, so long as you do the slow introduction thing.

  9. Yes, unlike dogs that become sick when eating diferent foods cats are pretty much ok (Unless they have some sort of digestive problem) as long as you stay with the smae brand diferent tastes will be a pleasure for your cat, just remember to offer the wet food on a "once a day" basis to encourage the dry food that keeps cats's teeth healthy and their digestive system hairball free.

  10. Absolutely. My cats get a different brand of wet food than their dry food. I rotate through all the flavors of the canned food, and I've had no issues.

  11. sure but they might not like other flavors at much so i would try them one at a time dont by a bunch of each flavor

  12. It's fine to switch flavors around  when feeding the same brand of wet or the same quality. There is no reason to feed dry food at all. You can leave wet food down all day. Although the food you are feeding isn't the best quality, it is still better then feeding an even higher quality dry

    Best of luck

Nutrition since there are so many bad things out there is very important to your cat’s health

Contrary to what you may have heard; dry foods are not a great thing to feed a cat.

Please read the label on what you are feeding? What are the ingredients? Do you know what they mean? Is the first ingrdiant a muscle meat like chicken or meal or other things?

Dry foods are the number 1 cause of diabetes in cats as well as being a huge contributing factor to kidney disease, obesity, crystals, u.t.i’s and a host of other problems. Food allergies are very common when feeding dry foods. Rashes, scabs behind the tail and on the chin are all symptoms

The problems associated with Dry food is that they are loaded with grains and carbohydrates which many cats (carnivores) cannot process.  Also, Most of the moisture a cat needs is suppose to be in the food but in

Dry, 95% of it is zapped out of dry foods in the processing. Another thing, most use horrible ingredients and don't use a muscle meat as the primary ingredient and use vegetable based protein versus animal. Not good for an animal that has to eat meat to survive.

You want to pick a canned food w/o gravy (gravy=carbs) that uses a muscle meat as the first ingredient and doesn't have corn at least in the first 3 ingredients if at all.    The best food for cats does not contain any grains at all.

Fancy feast is a middle grade food with 9lives, friskies  whiskas lower grade canned and wellness and merrick upper grade human quality foods. I would rather feed a middle grade canned food then the top of the line dry food.

Also, dry food is not proven to be better for teeth. Does a hard pretzel clean your teeth or do pieces of it get stuck? http://www.felinefuture.com/nutrition/bp...

    Please read about cat nutrition.

Vetinarian diets  The reason your vet thinks so highly of the pet food they sell probably has more to do with money than nutrition. In vet school, the only classes offered on nutrition usually last a few weeks, and are taught by representatives from the pet food companies. Vet students may also receive free food for their own dogs and cats at home. They could get an Iams notebook, a Purina purse and some free pizza.  http://iml.jou.ufl.edu/projects/Spring04...

  13. I feed different flavors of 9 Lives to my cats each day. I have heard that the fish canned foods aren't good for cats, but I still feed them occasionally to mine. Dry food is always better for them, because it helps to clean their teeth.
