However, some boxer prefer their dominant hand in front, example would be Oscar De La Hoya who is naturally a left handed fighter but stands like a right hander with his dominant hand in front. When defending your face, you usually use your dominate hand to catch punches, just like mayweather uses his right hand like a catching a ball with a mit.
