  1. All of your creditors as well as the IRS and state taxing authorities will be notified of your bankruptcy filing.  It will also appear on your credit report almost immediately.

  2. They all run your credit report from time to time, so yes, they'll all know.  I don't think you get to pick who you want to pay back, the court orders you.

  3. Sorry, but you don't get to choose who you pay back - the bankruptcy court and trustee has final say over who gets what.  You must list all creditors on your bankruptcy application and a payment plan which the creditors then have a right to see.  You will also list all income and expenditures, so if you set aside a portion of your income to secretly pay back unlisted creditors, the court will probably increase your payments to the creditors you do list.

Also, bankruptcy is a public record and also goes on your credit report.  Assume that any creditor you have runs a periodic report on you.  At that time, they will see the bankruptcy.

  4. Everyone will know about it.

Everyone you pay off and everyone you try to buy things from ((ie, houses, cars etc.)) will know about it too.

It's going to be all over your credit for a long time it hits hard on your credit too.

    Good luck
