When filing for bankruptcy do you have to include your cars?

I dont want to add my cars to a bankruptcy, just my credit cards, is that possible???

  1. Yes if you are current on the payments


  2. All assets must be listed in a bankruptcy, you can however sign a reaffirmation agreement and keep your vehicles at the same payments and interest rate you are paying now.

    If you do this, be sure and call your lender and make sure they continue to report to the credit bureaus this will help in reestablishing your credit after the BK discharges.

  3. You only list what you want under bankruptcy.

  4. Yes you must list your cars because they are assets and must be listed on your bankruptcy.  You can still keep the car if you continue making payment, but it still must be listed.  You can get into lots of trouble if you dont include your assets.
