  1. Simple, scale it, then place on a towel, no sliding around then.

  2. Coat it in flour

  3. use a board with a clamp like this http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores...

  4. With bout' all fish that I clean (practice catch & release so it not be many) I'll use Kevlar's String Knit (link) gloves but, any one on the page will do ya'. The material that's used cuts down the "slippery-ness" of em' (fish). Other way be the cleaning station that sets over a sink. It has a large clamp the acts like a vise on the "snout", of the fish. Don't know If I've helped but, least ya' got some more options ;)... < ' ( (( > <

  5. At home I have a cleaning board with a piece of non-skid on it.  Out in the field I grab it by the lip with my pliers.

  6. Pin it down

  7. when filleting the fish dont cut off the tale untl the very end. thet way you can drive a nail trough the tale to reduce the amount of movement of the fish. Works better on big fish.

  8. just buy one of those wooden fish-cleaning boards with a metal clamp attached to one end......you can get them at any walmart..

  9. did you scale it?

  10. the best way is to wear a glove on your non knife hand that has good grip. I find cotton gloves the best.

  11. rinse first and use wooden cutting board

  12. A kevlar glove is your best option(as suggested) as it will prevent accidents plus it will keep it from slipping, a dry wooden chopping board also works. Also wash the fish in cold water when filleting to remove excess slime.

  13. You hold it
