Question:

When filling out the FAFSA... is a 60 EFC high?

I'm affraid I won't be able to get enough aid for this upcomming school year and don't know if a 60 EFC is too high for me to get a decent amount.

  1. You'll be fine.  What you aren't eligible for in grants, you'll pick up in student loans. You'll need $60 per year out of pocket...I'm sure your loan refunds (cash in your pocket) will be more than that.

That means it has been calculated that the amount of money you and/or your family  can afford to contribute to your education is $60 per year.  As a result, you are eligible for every need-based financial aid program that exists and may potentially have all of your expenses covered by financial aid.

    Because of your low EFC, you are also eligible for scholarships that include a need component.  You might want to search for some using the free scholarship search links on http://www.online-degrees-and-scholarshi... and/or similar sites.

  3. EFC is expected family contribution so if you are expected to pay only 60 dollars for school, then thats really good :)
