  1. you let it sit for 10 seconds and jerk it in

  2. I tend to cast out fake worms, let them sink, sit for a bit, and then slowly twitch or hop them back, hoping for a bite.

I <3 Zoom trick worms in Mardi Gras, on a Texas rig with 3/16ths Parasite weight clips!

  3. So many good answers... dumdum , M V and of course Flounder...

I often don't put any weight on mine and let them sink and follow their suggestions... not all plastic worms are created equal... there are a few japanese ones that work very well...

  4. Soft plastic baits like worms, grubs and tubes, work better when you impart some action & bring them to life. The fish find this more appealing and natural. If you are casting worms for bass cast around visible cover like pads, tree stumps and branches. Let the worm settle before beginning your retrieve. Raise the rod tip maybe a foot and reel in the slack as you drop the rod back towards the water. Try this retrieve a few times before swimming the worm back (or reeling it in). Do not be afraid to try any retrieve you can think of... fish can get conditioned to seeing lures presented in the same manner. Especially on heavily pressured lakes. Get out there and work that bait and I'm sure you'll be catching fish in no time. Tight lines!

  5. You cast and retrieve plastic worms.  In fact, you usually move all fake baits as opposed to let them sit still like live bait.   With bass, you usually snake the worm across the bottom.  Vary the retrieve; sometimes steady, sometime more of a hopping motion until you find what the bass want in that spot on that day at that time.

  6. When fishing it with a weight, cast it out, hold your rod tip high and let the  lure drop toward the bottom . When the lure hits bottom, reel in the slack, raise rod tip and repeat the sequence again. If fishing weightless, retrieve with twitches of the rod tip , swimming it in slowly. with and occasional pause before starting the retrieve process again. Good luck and good fishing!
