When flies land on your food OR arm, do they barf?

My friend Taylor said that, if a flie lands on your food OR arm it will barf. I want to know if that is true or not. So please tell me!!

  1. yes. they have something called nagioyounitis- which means a way to throw up or do diarehea when you stomach feels upset. so the flies stomach must be upset.


  2. depends if they want to eat someting on ure arm, then yes, they barf to soften any foodstuffs then they suck it all back up...

    also they carry lots of bacteria in their bodies because of the environments they tend to land on.. also jigggg!!!!

    but the good news is that u as a human being have very complex defences against most of these foreign bodies

    so no worries :)

  3. If they land on food IE a sandwich, first they taste it with their feet. If it is enable, they barf on it because they can not eat solids. They just suck up liquids with their proboscis. Their barf contains enzymes that will liquefy the food.

  4. Yes they do. They will then eat the vomit so if you let them stay there long enough they will take care of it.

  6. Yes. I think it's like spit or something. Flies can't eat solid food, so when they eat they vomit up some kind of acid to liquefy their food.
