Yes, they are born with hair and their eyes open.  They will stand and nurse within an hour or two of birth and are steady enough on their feet to be turned out to run with the mare within 5 or 6 hours of birth.

Yes, they definitely do.  They're up and running around (literally!) in  a couple of hours, presuming they're healthy.
