Question:

When free diving (lungs only) I can go to about 65ft but can only stay for about 25 sec. Any suggestions...?

on how to stay longer / deeper. I dont use a wet suit and already use 5lbs in lead. If it matters its in SW Asia.

  1. Fill your lungs to their highest capacity and they take in 3 more breaths. You may feel the urge to cough but dont hold it in. Also you can lay on your back with hands over your head and hold your breath for 1 MIN.  then 1:30 then 2;00 with 1 min rest between. helped me good luck


  2. work on holding your breath every chance you can, if u do this, your lungs will stretch and be able to hold more air. so u can dive deeper .

  3. Free diving at sea at great depths, regardless whether you have a long breath or strong chest/lungs that can withstand the pressure, is still a very risky activity. It is not recommended unless you are a pearl diver and have been doing this since young, and now wishing to set a record for the deepest free dive. Well, from what i know many have done very much beyond this depth, and there were a couple of fatalities, including one woman. I dont really think it is worth it, for a human, cos many other things, besides opposing currents, presence of poisonous marine creatures, etc can go wrong.Best wishes.
