When gas hits $4 a gallon, will you still buy as much?

with oil having hit an unimaginable $108 a barrel, and it continues to rise, experts say gas could hit 4 bucks a gallon by spring or summer.

Yet I see more hummers and trucks on the road than ever. do you approve of current prices? will you try and cut back when it hits the big 4?

  1. I bought a Scion XB that gets 34-36 mpg, I'm already buying less gas. Best decision I've made in a year! I think it's stupid that we are in a war with it's roots in oil (don't let them fool you, it's about oil) and yet the gas prices are STILL going up? What exactly ARE our soldiers dying for?

  2. I think we all should think about car pool to work from home and back home after work. Try to take the buses if it is possible, or take number 11 bus for short distance. Why it cost that much a gallon? The simple answer is greed. The investors want the oil shares incline in the Dow Jones then they can double or triple up their investment neglecting Iraq war cost a lot of lives and money. They want to make money only! You will read articles in international living, such as "Invade Iran, oil price will incline to $100 US per barrel, last year. A stock promoter in oil voluntarily ordered and paid $100 US per dollar last year while oil price is not even up to $80 US by that time.

  3. no i wont lol it stupid!!

i will catch buses and trains etc.

  4. You will get used to it.

Europeans, typically, pay $ 8 a gallon. This doesn't seem to limit their driving.

  5. Think yourself lucky! In England it's currently around $2.50 (£1.20) for 1 litre! How c**p is that! We all said when it $2.00(£1.00) we'd stop driving as much but as it gradually goes up, you just deal with it. Plus the buses are so d**n expensive anyway!

  6. I am already cutting back at $3.40 a gallon, I drive a truck because it is what I have. I cannot afford another car.

  7. its stupid how they gas pirce s are risuing so much. if they sell it for less =more peeps=more money

by the time i get my licence gas will be like $10  and that way i'm better off riding my bike !!!!!

  8. I've already cut down for over a year now. I don't travel nearly as much because I simply cannot afford to. I am disgusted with all the SUV's. Plenty of small, gas economical or hybrids that have all wheel drive if handling in bad weather is at issue. Unfortunately, that is not usually the issue, it's most often, "I have a bigger and better vehicle than you!" or status symbols. I have, on a good note, seen alot of SUV's for sale on the side of the road, just hoping they sit there for a really long time, if not forever.

  9. I used to get in my car and drive somewhere to blow off steam.

    No longer. Sad.

  10. Naw, i will drive the same amount i got a bike and get like 40mpg.

  11. I drive a smaller car with very excellent gas mileage.  I will have to buy just as much gas then as I do now because I have to drive back and forth to work everyday.  People who drive suvs really need to realize that they are only adding to the problem.

Here in america we have ignored this problem for way too long.  I think it would do us all good to learn how to conserve.

  12. i drive a cummins diesel and just yesterday i put $125.00 of fuel in it at $2.69 a gallon. no matter what the price is ive got to get where im going

  13. I have already cut back, in fact I refuse to drive a car until I can save up for a completely electric or at least a hybrid. This is not just in protest for saving the environment, its also in protest of the evil oil companies and their destruction of civilizations, the environment, and assassination of political leaders both metaphorically and literally.

  14. I have already cut back to only driving to and from work.  I hit the grocery on my way home.  I can't cut out any more of my driving.  I drive less than 10 miles a day.  I think I will be forced to eat Ramen noodles morning, noon and night.

  15. I am not truly affected harshly by gas prices because I dont have to drive that much.  The little bit I drive wont be adjusted up or down.

  16. I only drive to and from work. Try alternate ways for other things.

But I see no way of cutting down, I live 35 miles from work and public transport is a no go.

  17. I do not have much choice I only drive to work and back home and make sure I have planned my shopping so it gets done on my way home from work.
