When geese travel, how often does the lead goose change & how long does the same goose lead?

How many miles does the same goose lead? How fast does the flock fly? If only one goose led how long would it take to reach the same desination?

Canada geese can fly at 50-90 km/hr, and they can travel up to 1000 km/day.  They save about 36% energy flying in a V compared to flying solo (about half of the theoretical maximum savings with perfect spacing and flock angle); leaders have the least energy savings.  http://jeb.biologists.org/cgi/reprint/12...  Each leader leads until s/he gets tired, so that is quite variable.  Sorry not to be able to answer more of your questions!
