I am getting ready for my disability hearing and my attorney believes I will get it. If I do, I could be looking at up to 2 years back payments. I have heard people tell me either way. Do you get it all at once. I know when a child gets it they split it up for a fact due to a friend recently getting it for her child. But I am an adult.

  1. It depends on how much back pay you'll be getting. It also can take quite a while to receive. Make sure you keep on top of it without too much pestering lol. Don't ask the payment center when you'll be getting it either because all they do is wait for the ok to send you the funds from Social Security. The payment center is not who makes the decision of how much or when.

  2. All at once in the form of a check, from then on you get a direct deposit for your monthly checks

  3. when i got mine i got the whole back pay mine was about 4 years worth, but it was sent direct,my lawyer was paid out before i got my check and the following month my check came right on time and has been right on
