  1. Go to houseofbrides.com.  Then go into bridesmaids dresses.  There are beautiful dresses that will suit your informal wedding.  You can even choose it in ivory, or soft pink...whatever color you want.  I don't particularly like your choices of charlotterusse.com.  The dresses run about $100 and you can order them on line or find out what store carries the designer brand.  Especially look at alfredangelo.com (bridesmaids dresses).

  2. Its your wedding whether you are in a church, in a barn, at the court house, or in your back yard you are the bride and you can wear what ever you want!! Remember you are the bride it is your day and you can do it whatever way you want.

  3. Honestly, I don't really care for any of those outfits. They are all a bit too casual for such an event. Especially if he's going to be wearing his uniform. Also, as a traditionalist, I'm not too sure how I feel about a bride wearing a black skirt.

These are a little more "dressy", but they'll go better with his uniform and will look better if you're having pictures taken later.

None of these are really "fancy" enough to be seen as a wedding dress, but I think they would work better since he'll be so dressed and pressed. Plus, these are dresses you could wear again!

  4. Last time I got married by a JP, everyone wore jeans. No one in their right mind would wear a dress to something like that.

  5. You can wear anything you want, from a wedding dress to jeans and a t-shirt. However, if your fiance is going to be wearing a dress uniform, I'd suggest something a little more formal - maybe a formal dress? You'd want something to match his uniform, too, so I'd suggest either navy blue or white/cream, or maybe black.

  6. Anything you want! I've had friends get married @ JOP wearing jeans and a shirt, others dressed up.

  7. whatever you want!

we got married by the JOP but we did the whole wedding thing.

  8. I think that being married by a JP deos make the occasion slightly more casual but I think that it's important to respect the importance of a wedding. If your future husband is wearing his uniform it shows that the wedding day is a day of importance to him; I would imagine it would be important to him to see you in slightly more formal attire as well. It looks like you're looking for something fairly simple and with a bit of s*x appeal. Below are some links to some dresses which would suit a casual wedding but still looks beautiful by the groom's uniform.

I don't think that you would need to carry flowers but maybe having some in your hair would be suitable.

    Congratulations and good luck!

  9. wear something that makes you feel pretty. it is your day. you dont have to wear a wedding gown but a nice dress would be best.

  10. I don't like any of those.  I think if he is in uniform, you need to wear something dressier.

    My suggestions?

  11. You don't have to wear a wedding dress... You can wear anything you want. Wear a regular dress, a sundress, a skirt/blouse combo, a pantsuit or even a pair of jeans - it depends on how formal or fancy you want to be. You can show up in a pair of sweatpants, it's entirely up to you. If I was doing a JOP wedding, I would wear something that I don't wear every day but  that I would still be comfortable in, like a pantsuit (I don't like dresses).

  12. Hmm, that dress is awfully casual, and even though you're not having a big bash, you should still pick out a special outfit.

    What about something like these

And wear shoes in a color that pops like navy blue?

I would also carry a small bouquet, have your future husband in a nice suit, and then hire a photographer to follow you guys around for the rest of the day. Not sure if you're planning on a small family dinner for after, but the photographer could take pictures of that, or you guys just around town, grabbing dinner, an ice cream cone, etc.

It's still your wedding day, and you guys deserve to make it special. Good luck!
