When getting your eyes checked?

I havent got them checked in a while. So how does it usually go? My goal is to get them checked and then get contacts. Once I go in and have them examined, and get the RX can I order contacts from them or can I go straight onto something like 1800CONTACTS to order?

Yep...you can do either, order from them, or ask for a copy of your contact lens Rx and order from where ever you want.

Be sure to specify that it is a contact lens exam you want before you even get there though.

When you go in for an eye checkup, they usually

-see if your prescription went up,

-dilate your eyes [eyedrops],

- check to see if your eyes are healthy [w/ light]

-make you read the chart

hmm. well i'm getting contacts soon also, and i think you have to ask them before you go there. . you should call and tell them you need an eye checkup and you want a contact lenses fitting also.

and you probably wouldn't be able to order right away, because usually they'd give you a trial pair of contacts for a week, and then you'd order it from them or 1800contacts or whatever, and you'd pick them up.
