Question:

When girls hips start to get rounder hips, does it affect running.?

im a xc and track runner and some of the older girls on my team keep telling me "your so fast but wait till you get older and grow hips, then you stop getting pr's." can anyone tell me if its true that when you get older and get rounder hips it will make me slower?

  3. Wider hips will certainly change your stride. Depending on how drastic the change, it may or may not have a big effect.

    It is especially important to focus on proper form, lots of stretching and appropriate strength training during significant changes in your body.

  4. I don't care what these people say, yes it does. Girls don't have the same shape bodies as guys which is why we run differently. If you're in good shape you won't necessarily become slower.

  5. I've been running since high school (I'm 23 now)- my b***s are bigger, my body is curvier: and I can safely say, no with a capital N.

  6. Yes it makes you slower. But if you stay fit and work your legs/hips out, you can still be fast.
